Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Videotolink ("we", "us") handles information when you use videotolink.net (the "Service"), a tool for uploading a video and sharing it as a link.

What we collect

1. Account information. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, profile picture, and Google account identifier. We do not receive your Google password.
2. Content you upload. Video files, generated thumbnails, file names, and titles. Videos are stored so we can host and play them for you and for people you share the link with.
3. Upload and usage data. File size, format, upload timestamps, and the IP address used to upload (kept for abuse prevention and to enforce plan limits). View counts are recorded using short-lived hashed technical identifiers (IP and browser signature, deleted within 24 hours) so repeated plays are not double-counted. We do not build viewing profiles.
4. Communications. If you email us, we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to handle it.
5. Technical logs. Our infrastructure provider (Cloudflare) generates short-term server logs (such as IP address and browser type) used for security and troubleshooting.

What we do NOT collect

• No advertising cookies, no third-party ad trackers.
• Site analytics run on Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookie-free and aggregate-only.
• We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising purposes (including "selling" or "sharing" as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act).

Cookies

Because we only use essential and preference cookies, no consent banner is required. If this ever changes, we will update this policy first.

How we use information

• To provide the Service: store, process, and play back your videos.
• To enforce plan limits and prevent abuse (rate limits, size limits, blocking prohibited content).
• To process subscriptions and payments.
• To respond to support, privacy, and copyright requests.
• To comply with legal obligations.

Who can see your videos

Links are unlisted, not private: anyone who has the link can watch the video, and links can be forwarded. Video pages are excluded from search engine indexing by us, but we cannot control someone else republishing a link. Do not upload content you would not want a link-holder to see.

Sharing

We share data only with the service providers that run the Service, acting on our instructions:

• Cloudflare: hosting, storage, content delivery, and cookie-free analytics.
• Google: sign-in (Google's privacy policy).

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the Service and its users (for example, responding to abuse or valid legal process).

Retention

• Guest uploads: deleted approximately 21 days after upload.
• Account uploads: kept indefinitely (on paid plans, until an expiry date you set; an expired upload stays for a further 30 days before removal). You can delete them at any time.
• Upload IP records: kept for the life of the video plus up to 90 days.
• Account data: kept until you delete your account.
• Payment records: kept as required for tax and accounting.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export, or delete your data. Signed-in users can delete their own videos from My Videos. For account deletion, data export, or any other request, email support@videotolink.net and we will respond within 30 days.

Guest uploads: guest videos are not tied to an account, so they cannot be self-deleted. To request removal of a guest upload (yours, or a video of you), email support@videotolink.net with the link.

If you are in the EEA/UK, you also have rights to object to or restrict processing and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority; our legal bases are performance of contract (providing the Service), legitimate interests (abuse prevention, security), and consent where applicable. If you are a California resident, you may exercise your CCPA rights via the same email; we do not discriminate for exercising them.

Children

The Service is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child under 13 has used the Service, contact us and we will delete the data.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and access to production systems is restricted. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please keep sensitive content off the Service.

International transfers

We are US-focused and data is processed on Cloudflare's global infrastructure, primarily in the United States.

Changes

We will post any changes on this page and update the date above. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
